Vicky began her nursing career with undergraduate training in Adult Nursing at King’s College, University of London, graduating in 1990. She went on to complete a master’s degree in Community Nursing at the Royal College of Nursing in partnership with the University of Manchester.

From 2000 to 2023, she held academic and leadership roles at Oxford Brookes University, most recently serving as Deputy Programme Lead for Advanced and Specialist Practice. During this time, she contributed extensively to both undergraduate nursing education and postgraduate programmes in advanced and specialist practice.

Currently, Vicky is a Senior Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) at the University of Cumbria. She is also an active committee member of the Association of Advanced Practice Educators UK (AAPEUK) and chairs the national End Point Assessment Organisation network for the ACP apprenticeship, hosted by AAPEUK.

With a clinical background spanning Orthopaedics, Gerontology, Primary Care, and Urgent Care, as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Vicky brings a wealth of academic and practical expertise to her work, supporting the development of advanced practice across the UK.
