Abstract
Chris Dickie, the editor of Ag: The International Journal of Photographic Art & Practice, reviews the book Dark Days (2007) photographed by John Darwell, praising its unflinching visual record of the devastating 2001 Foot and Mouth disease crisis in Cumbria. Five images from Darwell's series 'Dark days' were used in this article.
