Dr Caligari's Cabinet featuring a live soundtrack by 'Pecker'

Event Press release: German film classic The Cabinet of Dr Caligari is to be performed with live accompaniment from a folk-rock band at Carlisle’s City Cinemas. The venue will play host to a live band for the first time as “folk-art rockers” Pecker play alongside the movie on Sunday 29th October 2006 at 9pm. The one-off performance follows on from Pecker’s sell out show at the 2006 Carlisle Arts festival. Darren Connor, director of the cinema, said ”This is something new and exciting we are bringing to the cinema. One of our ambitions since we took over the running was to widen and challenge people’s experience of film – not only is Caligari a fantastic example of expressionist film making which continues to influence today but we are screening it complete with a specially commissioned soundtrack”. 'Pecker' are Jim Davis - guitar, keyboards, vocals; Nick Dodds - guitar, vocals; and Jon Lambert - drums, guitar, vocals.
