Abstract

In this final issue of 2025, I am pleased to announce the winner of the annual [2024] Pittu Laungani Award is Astrid Novita Haryanto, Muhammad Hafizurrachman, Hardisman & Afrizal’s paper ‘The impact of a family-empowerment program on smoking prevention among elementary students in Indonesia: a cluster randomized controlled trial’ which featured in Issue one of Volume 62. We have again awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ paper, ‘Kenyan youth’s understanding of cancer and cancer risk: a qualitative study’ written by David Shiyokha Busolo & Roberta Lynn Woodgate and published in Issue 6 of Volume 62. Congratulations to the authors of both of these papers, and my appreciation to the review team and Taylor & Francis for supporting the award. As Editor, it is a genuine pleasure to be able to make this annual award although with so many interesting topics and methodologies it isn’t without many challenging discussions in the review process. The journal continues to publish a wide range of innovative research with global reach—testament to the committed health promotion and education research community our journal serves. Thank you to all our authors, reviewers and readers for supporting the journal throughout 2025. In 2026, the journal will profile contemporary topics to engage our international readership in the form of research papers, the introduction of a series of commentary papers and some themed editorials—if you have ideas for a paper you’d like to publish with us, please do get in touch.
