Abstract
Musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging was first introduced in medical imaging in the 1970s and advancements in technology have since enabled a wide scope of practice to develop within this field. Ultrasound is known to be a safe imaging modality with a high sensitivity and specificity for detection of traumatic, inflammatory, and degenerative soft tissue MSK conditions; however, it is operator-dependent and accurate image acquisition and interpretation relies on training and experience of the operator.
