Abstract

Book abstract: The proceedings of the 4th International Improving Student Learning Symposium include 51 papers in 17 sections covering theoretical underpinnings for course design; how course design might incorporate skills such as writing, learning and research; assessment issues, and modes of course delivery including IT and distance learning. The book concludes with a discussion of professional development and employment issues.
