The Forth ‘freeport’, or ‘Special Economic Zone’, envelops a large swathe of the Edinburgh and Fife conurbation. Its boundaries stretch from Falkirk to Portobello and from Burntisland to Loanhead. In total, it covers 45km and encompasses Edinburgh airport, Grangemouth and Rosyth.
