Abstract
Reflecting as a university lecturer, I reflect on my use of the Laban principles in my work as a teacher and researcher. In the space of knowledge, as a dance practitioner, I enquire into embodied knowledge and that which may be hidden in the 'land of silence' as theorised by Rudolf von Laban in his systems of movement, expressionism and philosophy. I apply this in practice to thinking about the Black Lives Matter uprisings of Summer 2020 and attempt to make a case and advocation for study and practice of knowledge and skills in the epistemological spaces of dance, creative practice and performance moving forwards post 2020.
