Shooting the Messenger (Matrix #2)

Matrix #1 (2016) by Mark Wilson and Bryndís Snæbjörnsdóttir was the first work to come from a major commission by Anchorage Museum as part of an ongoing Artists’ Residency from 2015 - 20. The solo show will take place in the autumn of 2020.The project addresses the matrix of human and non-human environmental interests existing on the most northerly coast of America, namely the North Slope Borough in Alaska. Those interests include various Inupiaq native communities, the oil industry, biological conservation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the US Geological Survey, the Tourist industry, the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, the polar bear community and the Barents Sea.
