Abstract
Simon Carr, on behalf of the Geography Editorial Collective.
In what is (hopefully) the first of many editorials as a member of the Geography Editorial Collective, I feel I have plunged into the (very) deep end of a swimming pool. Who would have realised just how much was going to change since the previous issues of Geography this year? Of course, the epicentre of this dramatic change is the Covid-19 pandemic – to be met through fast-paced medical research seeking treatment and, ultimately, a vaccine. However, the impacts of the pandemic for the economy, society, culture and environment, which we are witnessing from individual to global scales, are inherently geographical. We face immense uncertainty, and the post-Covid-19 world may be very different. This is a theme for a future issue of Geography, perhaps when we have a clearer view of what the world will be beyond the immediate crisis.
