Wellbeing development for young people who have experienced violence and abuse

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Wellbeing is an increasingly critical agenda for professionals across multiple disciplines (health, social, education, criminal justice, community, etc.). There is growing evidence of why we need to work with young people to support their wellbeing, particularly those most in need of support. However, less is known about how professionals support wellbeing development. This chapter addresses this point. The context for wellbeing development is summarised and a theoretical framework for wellbeing development presented. This is linked to a case study of a young person who has experienced violence and abuse enabling practitioners to apply the case to their own work.
